Hi,
I am lifelong resident of Virginia. I first started working in the clerical/administrative assistant field when I was taking classes at my local community college. I graduated with an associate’s degree in business technology.
Having worked through staffing agencies, I have had exposure to different office environments. I started as a secretary in a local planning office and from there I have worked in customer service in the furniture industry to operating switchboard and clerical in the medical department of a manufacturing and distribution plant.
Over the years I have honed my organizational skills and attention to detail. I welcome learning new computer programs. I am proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams) having used them throughout my career. I also have excellent written and oral communication skills along with strong grammar and punctuation skills.
I was a full-time stay at home caregiver for my mother for the last ten years of her life and I learned that routine and organization is key to keeping things running efficiently. I also have experience in appointment setting, problem solving and communication skills as well as having compassion and empathy for those who are dealing with being a caregiver themselves.
I live in Virginia with my Beagle, Sally. I love sports, mainly football and basketball. Cozy mysteries are my favorites to read. I’m gaining skills as a crocheter having completed my third blanket and I’m currently working on a shawl.
